This happened a few days ago, but I felt it important to comment on it. For those of you who may not know, Martin McGuinness, Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland and former IRA leader shook hands with Queen Elizabeth II this past week.

It’s a very nice gesture of reconciliation, and reaffirms my suspicion that all Irishmen just want to shake hands with their queen.
